Maldives CLIMATE
The Maldives straddle the equator, lie outside the cyclone belt and enjoy a year round tropical climate. Temperatures fluctuate between a minimum 23º celsius and a maximum 33º celsius. On any island in the Maldives there is always a cooling breeze. The south-western monsoon tends to bring more rain, normally in June and July. Rain can occur at any time of year and without warning.

There is nowhere on earth quite like the Maldives, if so 'earth' is the appropriate terminus. 1190 tropic islands make up the 26 atolls that shape the Maldives. They lie 450 miles south west of Sri Lanka, lodging in 90,000 straight kms sprinkled amongst the uncomparably beautiful, peacock blue and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Just 1 per centime of the area lies of solid ground - the other 99 % is water! .

The Maldives are possibly the ultimate, 'get away from it all', holiday address. The islands, of which no more than 200 are populated, range the equator extending some 500 miles northerly to in the south and precisely 81 miles from east to west. Recent yrs have interpreted the Maldives increment dramatically in popularity as increasingly holidaymakers clammer for the 'shipwreck survivor life style' experience so pronto available here. International hotel chains ply praiseworthily to their penuries supplying some of the highest measures of luxury accommodation available anyplace in the world.
Traditionally contingent on the sea for solid food and endurance, the wallop of touristry and its underlying welfares to the economic system have had a profound impression upon the Maldivian the great unwasheds. They enjoy an ancient history and civilization, with African, Arabian and South Asian influences all seeming in the attire, euphony and culinary art. Devoutly Islamic, Maldivians are friendly, hospitable and peace loving citizenries, highly tolerant of western agencies and values. Esteem for these of import customs is consequently greatly apprised. For visitants, attire is loosely 'barefoot' effortless and whilst it is precluded to import alcohol under Shariah law - tariff free purchases will be seized upon comer - alcoholic beverages are freely uncommitted on recourse.
